These 132 acres of woodland border Catskill State Park. There are trails through the forest. Every 50 acres of woodland is eligible for a reduction on property and school taxes. The property must be maintained as a tree farm and not sub-divided. A house can be built on the land and some acreage converted to plant production. The existing home could be used as a guest house if it is decided to build a more substantial structure elsewhere on the land. Up to ten cords of wood can be cut for firewood. Maintaining a tree farm benefits all human and animal populations. The maintenance of forestland is an important contribution to the well being of the future animal and human ecosystem. The town of Livingston Manor is a short distance away for shopping, restaurants and the well known Catskill Art Space for art. There is a public transfer station a short distance from the village for recyclables and household waste.
